Course Details
Haul truck training unit of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to operate, load, haul, and dump materials using an articulated haul truck. This unit applies to those who work in operational roles. This unit applies to both front and rear dumping haul trucks.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory, and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced form state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit. This course is also known as Dump truck training and Moxy training.

ARTICULATED HAUL TRUCK OPERATIONS COURSE DETAILS
Training sessions will be carried out on site in a safe designated area for practical and in a classroom environment for theory.
Course areas include:
- Access, interpret and apply conducting articulated dump truck documentation
- Identify faults or defects and rectify or report within scope of own responsibility and according to workplace procedures
- Select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities
- Coordinate and communicate planned activities with others at the site prior to commencement of work activity
- Position articulated haul truck under all loading units and load vehicle
- Carry out approved haulage operations
- Park up, shut down, secure and carry out post operational inspection of equipment in line with workplace procedures
- Clear work area in line with workplace procedures
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- ID to show proof of age.
- Good verbal and written comprehension of the English language
- Have USI or create one from here
- Steelcap boots
- Hard hat
- Classroom (Face to Face)
- Work place training available on request by employers
Course duration for training and assessment is 3 days
- All participants are required to go through an assessment to be issued with a statement of attainment. This unit of competency is nationally recognized.
Allowances can be made for participants with language, literacy & numeracy issues. You will complete a short literacy and numeracy assessment on enrolment and if we identify any learning difficulties the Trainer/Assessor will be notified prior to your attendance for the course. Depending on your learning difficulty, the Trainer can spend extra time assisting you and/or do a verbal assessment with you.
