  • Vertical Lift (VL) — Smaller and lighter than a scissor lift, vertical lifts are perfect for fast and reliable manoeuvrability for workers on a site. The importance of vertical lifts cannot be understated on any given project. That’s why you must have the right qualifications to make projects run smoothly.
  • Scissor Lift (SL) — A scissor lift is a type of vertical work platform that uses a pair of scissors-like lifting arms to raise a platform. The platform is typically used to raise workers, tools, and materials to elevated work surfaces. Scissor lifts are available in various sizes and capacities and can be powered by electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems. They are commonly used in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, warehousing and distribution, and event management.
  • Boom Lift under 11 metres (BL) — A boom lift is a type of aerial work platform that is used to provide access to high places. It consists of a platform attached to a boom arm, which is mounted on a vehicle or trailer. The platform can be raised and lowered to reach different heights and can rotate 360 degrees to allow for easy manoeuvrability. Boom lifts are often used in construction and industrial applications, as well as in disaster relief efforts. Boom lifts come in various sizes and configurations to suit different needs. They can have either two or four wheels. The platforms on boom lifts can accommodate one or two people and can be outfitted with many features such as rails, baskets, or shelves. Some boom lifts also have extendable arms to allow for greater reach.

If you are looking to do the truck mount (TM) as well, an additional $150 fee applies. Please register online and make sure to notify us two days before the training day. Sign up for DLI Training and enhance workplace productivity and safety with EWP tickets for the Sydney construction industry.

Get certified and stay compliant. You’ll learn how to successfully operate a truck mount attenuator to confidently and safely gain the knowledge and experience you need to diversify your skillset.

FAQS

At DLI Training, our EWP training covers vertical, scissor, and boom lifts under 11 metres.

Yes. To safely run and operate an elevating work platform, you must be properly trained and aware of all the associated risks involved.

The standard EWPA yellow card training course will give you an accredited qualification that lasts for five years.

You’ll need to be properly trained to understand the complexities of running an EWP and the risks that come along with it. However, no prerequisite knowledge is required before going for an EWP licence.

Before undertaking any work that requires an EWP, it’s important to understand and properly communicate the nature of the project and the risks involved. This can be done by filling out a safe work method statement (SWMS), which is required for high-risk construction work.
