Forklift Course Sydney (TLILIC0003) – Forklift Licence Training

Students undertaking the following courses MUST have Proof of Identification (POI) obtained through Service NSW online to undertake SafeWork NSW HRW Assessment:

• Forklift License
• Order Picker License
• EWP over 11 metres

Please note that students must create a Service NSW Account before being able to commence the SafeWork NSW HRW Assessment as follows:

Eligibility

You must :

• be aged 18 or over
• have completed HRW training with a registered training organisation (RTO)in the appropriate class or classes
• have been assessed as competent in the class by a SafeWork NSW accredited assessor working for the RTO and been sent your NSA
• be able to use English at a level that enables high risk work to be carried out safely.

What you need

• a MyServiceNSW Account
• you may need details from 2 identity documents
• your current HRW licence (if you have one)
• your fee payment

How to apply

You must apply within 60 days from the date of issue of your NSA.

1. Select the ‘Apply online’ button.
2. Log in to your MyService NSW account.
3. Follow the prompts to submit your application.

What happens next

1. You’ll get a confirmation email and receipt after you submit your application.
2. You may be required to visit a Service NSW Centreto have your photo taken.
3. You’ll get your licence in the post.

IMPORTANT- Proof of Identification (POI) Assessment Enrolment Number:

• You will need to create a Service NSW Account with your ID evidence as listed below to upload with your application to obtain an Assessment Enrolment Number to book in for your HRWL Assessment.
• You must provide DLI Training with your Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN) 24 hours prior to your HRWL assessment date.

Proof of Identification (POI) – Document Verification Service (DVS)

POI documents to pass DVS can be in the combination of either;
• 2 x Primary documents or
• 1 x Primary and 1 x Secondary document

Linking Documents

Linking documents are used to demonstrate the continuity of a customer’s identity, where identity details have changed (e.g. their name).

Customers may use the following linking documents as needed to meet the Level 2 (preferred) /

Level 1 (Service Centre only) POI standard.

• Marriage certificate
• Change of name certificate
• Australia Divorce Papers
• Australian Birth Certificate
• Commonwealth victims’ certificate

By completing this forklift licence training course participants will gain the skills and knowledge to:

• Plan for the work/task
• Prepare for the work/task
• Perform work/task
• Pack up

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Level 2 LLN minimum (refer to Language Literacy Numeracy Chart)

The duration of forklift licence training can vary depending on the training provider and the specific course you choose. At DLI Training, the standard forklift license course is designed to be completed over two days training, and a separate 1-day assessment with date options to choose from!

• Day One & Two is Theory and Practical Training: The first day consists of a combination of theoretical learning and practical exercises. You’ll learn about safety protocols, equipment operation, hazard identification, and risk management. Practical training will involve hands-on experience with a forklift, allowing you to develop the necessary skills under the supervision of experienced trainers.
• SafeWork Assessment Day: This day is scheduled after successful completion of training to undertake the SafeWork NSW assessment. During this assessment, you will demonstrate your ability to operate a forklift safely and competently in a variety of scenarios. If you require additional training or reassessment, DLI Training offers options to return for further practice at a minimal additional charge

• Client site: Workplace training available on request (minimum 10 participants)

Students will be assessed which includes but is not limited to the following:

• Knowledge evidence requires student to answer a range of theory questions
• Performance evidence to demonstrate application of:
  • Applying safe operating procedures for a forklift truck and relevant forklift truck manufacturer requirements and data plate information and approved modifications to attachments fitted are in accordance with manufacturer requirements.
  • Complying with Commonwealth, State and Territory Work Health and Safety (WHS)/Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)/Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) legislation, regulations safe work and workplace procedures.

Verification of competency (VOC) is used to verify worker’s current competence and assists the employer to determine the skill level of the operator for the model and make of machinery and task.

The VOC is commonly used by employers during pre-employment checks, site requirements and contract negotiations. DLI Training undertakes VOC assessment either in conjunction with training or as a VOC only request to provide to employers.

Statement of Attainment: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with Statement of Attainment for TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck making them eligible to undertake the SafeWork NSW National Assessment Instrument.

Step-by-Step Instructions

To ensure a smooth process for your upcoming High Risk Work Licence Assessment, please carefully follow the instructions outlined below:

1. Create a Service NSW Account

• If you do not already have a Service NSW account, please go to the [Service NSW website] (https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/) and create an account.
• Make sure to complete all required fields and verify your email address for account activation.

2. Access Service NSW

• Log into your Service NSW account.
• Navigate to the assessment portal for High-Risk Work Licences.
• Apply for a high risk work licence assessment enrolment number | Service NSW

3. Enter Your Details

        In the assessment portal, enter your personal information as requested.

        This may include your name, contact information, and any other identifying details.

4. Select Class of Training

• You must select the class of training you are undertaking (e.g., WP for Work Platform, LF for Forklift, LO for Order Picker).
• Ensure that the class selected corresponds with your intended assessment.

5. Assessment Date

• Make sure you book your assessment date within 30 days of receiving your AEN or it will expire

6. Proof of Identity

• You are required to provide and upload your Proof of Identity (POI) to Service NSW. 
• Acceptable forms of identification may include a driver’s licence, passport, or other government-issued ID.

7. Obtain Your AEN Number

• Once you have completed your details in the assessment portal, you will be assigned an Assessment Enrolment Number (AEN).
• Keep this AEN number safe; you will need to provide it to the Admin staff at DLI Training before the day of your assessment.

8. Confirm Completion

• Before your assessment date, double-check your Service NSW account to ensure all necessary details are correctly entered and that your POI has been successfully uploaded.

• Ensure that all information entered is accurate to avoid any delays with your assessment.

Important Note

• Arrive at your assessment venue with all required documents, including your AEN number, and your Proof of Identity. 
• Candidates will be required to bring one approved photo ID along to their assessment to have their identity verified by the Assessor

After the Assessment

• Candidates no longer receive a paper NSA/AS – instead they are emailed an NSA/AS which fills the same purpose. The emailed NSA/AS should arrive in the candidate’s inbox within 1 hour of the Assessor submitting the assessment on the LPP – RTOs will need to manage student expectations in this area
• Candidates will be required to go into Service NSW to get their photo taken for new HRW licenses
• Both NSAs and ASs will now be valid for 60 days before expiry – Candidates will have 60 days to pay for their licence and get their photo taken – then their NSA expires, and the student will, as usual, have to re-sit their licences.
