After successfully completing RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations, candidates may undertake the following

  • RII40720 Certificate IV in Civil Construction; or
  • RII40820 Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design

Course Structure and Content

RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations course structure requires students to successfully complete twenty (20) units of competency as follows:

  • Fifteen (15) core units
  • Five (5) elective units
  • at least one (1) must be chosen from Group A
  • at least two (2) must be chosen from Group B
  • no more than two (2) may be chosen from Group C
  • no more than one (1) may be chosen from elsewhere within this training package, or from another endorsed training package, or from an accredited course.

OR

  • at least two (2) must be chosen from Group A
  • a further three (3) may be chosen from Group A, B, or C
  • no more than one (1) may be chosen from elsewhere within this training package, or from another endorsed training package, or from an accredited course.

There are both licensed and non-licensed units of competency relating to high risk work in the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package. To be appointed under any statutory requirements in related roles, units of competency should be selected to meet the state/territory licensing requirements.

  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Duration and RPL Assessment Structure

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the process by which you can achieve a nationally recognised qualification, without the need to attend classes. You are assessed by providing us with evidence of the knowledge, skills and experience you already have. Our industry expert assessors review your submission and provide feedback if we require more information or clarification.

RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations is assessed for RPL as follows:

  • Approximately three (3) months duration based on evidence submitted to demonstrate competency
  • Start any time as the RPL process is fully online
  • Where gap training and assessment is identified, DLI Training will schedule a trainer/assessor to undertake gap training and assessment which may extend the duration of the RPL process
  • No additional fee for gap training and assessment as it is undertaken as part of the RPL process and is completed through the online portal.

Exit Point/Award

Students that successfully gain RPL for all 20 units of competency as stated in the Course Structure will be issued with RII30820 Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations by DLI Training. This qualification is recognised nationally under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

Students that gain RPL for some but not all units of competency as stated in the Course Structure may be issued with a Statement of Attainment by DLI Training. It will identify only those units of competency that have been granted RPL as part of the qualification.
