RIIMPO317F Conduct roller operations

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate a roller to compact material.

This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.

Course Outline:

By completing this course participants will gain the skills and knowledge to:

  • Plan and prepare roller operations
  • Operate roller in line with established requirements to complete work activity
  • Prepare to relocate the roller
  • Conduct housekeeping activities

  • Face-to-face x 2 days
  • Workplace training available upon request

  • Client site: workplace training available on request (minimum 10 participants)

Assessment Requirements

Students will be assessed using the following assessment methods which includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Knowledge evidence requires student to answer a range of theory questions
  • Performance evidence to completion of roller operations that safely, effectively and efficiently follows workplace procedures to carry out work activity

Verification of Competency (VOC)

Verification of competency (VOC) is used to verify worker’s current competence and assists the employer to determine the skill level of the operator for the model and make of machinery and task.

The VOC is commonly used by employers during pre-employment checks, site requirements and contract negotiations. DLI Training undertakes VOC assessment either in conjunction with training or as a VOC only request to provide to employers.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be issued with:

  • Statement of attainment for RIIMPO317F Conduct roller operations
  • Students will be given a wallet-sized card reflecting their achievement in the unit of competency
